Fast Forward 2050 - Inventing Interactive Performing Scenarios

#performance

In the Fast Forward 2050 seminar, we will invent and test future scenarios together. These scenarios are based on collective simulation games that are tested performatively and further developed using various artistic media.

The vision of a different, better world is particularly popular in times of major collective crises and challenges. The utopian way of thinking, focussed on an ideal goal, offers great creative potential, but often seems unrealistic in terms of concrete implementation.

In the Fast Forward 2050 seminar, we will look at realistic future scenarios in the year 2050. Based on the method of Robert Jungk's future workshops and the game scenarios of the research director at the Institute for the Future in California, Jane McGonigal, we will invent and test simulation games and future scenarios together in the seminar.

These scenarios are based on a creative writing method that fictionalises autobiographical experiences. Previously unthinkable events and unimaginable changes in terms of climate, health, political polarisation and other collective challenges can be simulated and made tangible in a sensory way.

The future scenarios generated by the participants during the seminar can be tested performatively or developed further individually using various artistic media (photography, film, choreography, music, etc.).
