Create a fanzine on another participant of the workshop and have a whole week of diverse challenges that will help you reflect on your role in the working environment. Get a curator's perspective on the process of choosing the content, work as an editor by telling a story with the given Information and as a graphic designer by designlng the magazine itself.
MeMag is a fanzine about one person. Every issue focusses on a new protagonist. The persons’ interests, likes, points of view. How can you tell a story about someone that is interesting for others? How can you tell this story particularly in a magazine? How to be a good storyteller? And what is more important, „truth“ or entertainment?
You will experience one week of diverse challenges that will help you to reflect your role in the working environment. Try out new perspectives as a curator (choosing content for a magazine), as an editor (telling a story with the given content), and of course as a designer (designing the content and the magazine itself).
Please bring these things with you: Laptop, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and basic knowledge how to use these programs, camera, a „real“ one or the one in your phone.
For your information: Several weeks before the workshop takes place the participants are asked to fill out a questionnaire about different topics that will be relevant for the magazine.
